In the life of modern Russians there are three major holidays every year – Birthday, New Year Eve and Victory day. Then, depending on the gender, there is International Women’s Day or Day of Motherland Defender (former Day of the Soviet Army). Even though there are several other nationwide holidays, all of them are of a smaller caliber.
